Summary:
Coach Romano is a science teacher at Syosset High School.  Coach Romano, like Coaches Waxer and Pedicini believes in, and strives to instill in his players, the concept of team unity.  He enjoys coaching the talented group of boys in Syosset and encourages the boys to push themselves to achieve their fullest potential.  Coach Romano believes that the successes that the teams he has coached in Syosset have had is a direct result of the balance of individual skills, team synergy, and excellent conditioning.

Coach Romano began coaching soccer 22 years ago at H. Frank Carey High School in the Sewanhaka District.  Coach Romano helped pioneer the JV Soccer program at Carey and was its first coach.  After two successful seasons, Coach Romano was offered the head coach of the varsity boys program.  That year, Carey won the Conference B-IV championship with and earned a playoff berth.  The next year, Carey was bumped up to Conference B-II and enjoyed another successful winning season, finished as conference runner-up, and earned another spot in the playoffs.  At the end of both the 1998 and 1999 seasons, Coach Romano was awarded Conference Coach of the Year.
After leaving Carey, Coach Romano became the coach of the Candlewood Middle School 8th grade boys soccer team in the Half Hollow Hills School District and after a few years working there, finally found his way to his present home in Syosset.  Coach Romano spent 4 years coaching the South Woods Middle School team, and then in 2008 gladly accepted the boys JV A position.

In addition to soccer, Coach Romano also has 21 years experience coaching wrestling at the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels.
